"A woman can also propose to a man" - Pastor Sam Adeyemi
Leadership speaker and Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, while preaching on "Prepaper for the wedding", on Sunday March 16th, shared his opinion about women proposing to the man and also gave insight on how they can go about it. Below is what he said
"Some people may ask, Pastor is it okay for it to be the lady that will tell the guy about marriage? Well, is there anywhere in the bible that says a lady can't tell a man? The thing though is, a lot of time, it's better for the guy to pop the question because men become suspicious a lot of time when they are being chased. They like to eat meat that they chased in the bush. They don't like the one that falls on their lap dead. However., sometimes, all the signs are there that she is the one but he is not just speaking. Its also not healthy for the lady emotionally for the man to be so close to her and yet not say anything. So in such a case, a lady needs to prod him.
So how can a lady go about it? Ask him where are we going? I sense this is where the relationship is going, what do you think? Its either a yes or a no, but with that, you know where you are going instead of being on an emotional roller coaster and your heart is smashed into pieces at the end of the day".
Pastor Sam supported his position with the story of Ruth in the Bible who was taught to propose to Boaz whom she eventually married according to Ruth Chapter 3 in the Bible. He however emphasized the need for women to apply uttermost wisdom when proposing to a man.

"They came in their numbers very early in the morning from Awe, Nasarawa State and made an attempt to seize the town and the local government secretariat but they were confronted by our youths who resisted them, forcing them to beat a retreat. Later in the afternoon at about 1pm, they staged a more coordinated attack on the town, this time they came in their hundreds, shooting, burning down houses, huts and killing anything in sight. The Police station in Gbajimba was helpless because we have less than 50 officers and men on ground at the station and this attack has completely overwhelmed them". A witness said

It may interest you to know that Rev (Mrs) Ejiro F. Kwakkpovwe by the grace of God gave the name to the popular devoational –OUR DAILY MANNA.

Speaking on the vision, the Publisher/Author of the devotional booklet who also doubles as the Bishop of MANNA PRAYER MOUNTAIN, Dr. Chris Kwakpovwe stressed that the book is to provide people with daily practical life stories, inspirational Bible expositions, breakthrough prayer points, song and strong prophetic declarations.
His words “Note that when God introduced Himself to Moses in Exodus 3, He did not say, “I WAS” (past tense) He said “I AM”(fresh and present tense). To really know Him as “I AM”, you must know Him in the present (not in the past). But you cannot know HIM every day through HIS WORD and PRAYER”.
“This is what OUR DAILY MANNA helps to provide for you and your family”

The Management of God is Good Motors has expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the persons who died in a tragic road crash on Monday.
The accident occurred on 17th of March at about 3pm along Benin-Ore Expressway by Ugbogui Town. A truck belonging to a company (names withheld), which drove recklessly against traffic collided with our bus with registration number WWR 625 XA. Every effort by our captain (driver) to avoid this situation proved abortive.
We are heartbroken to report that several of our passengers lost their lives or were injured. We also lost a dear friend, a gentle and well cultured captain (Captain Wilfred) in this tragic incident. We realise that words cannot begin to express our sorrow to the families of those who lost their lives or were injured in this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. It grieves us deeply as we are a company which places very high premium on customer satisfaction, without such records of fatalities.
In our over 16 years history of providing transportation services to Nigerians, we pride ourselves as one of the safest and most reliable road transport company in Nigeria which is verifiable, constantly setting the standard of how a modern road transport company should be operated.
Our company, in a bid to ensure utmost safety of our customers, ensures that our captains are adequately trained in Nigeria and abroad and that they adhere to the highest safety standards. Majority of our guest (customers) would agree with us that professionalism is our watch word as our captains adhere to a company speed limit which is strictly enforced by our automatic speed detection system and monitoring teams.
Though we work closely with the Federal Road Safety Corps to ensure such accidents are avoided, however, we are currently reviewing the events that occurred and every necessary step is being taken to ensure that such a tragic incidence never occur again. We also join well meaning Nigerians to call on governments at all levels to pay more attention to our roads, while road users respect the lives of their fellow road users.
Once again, we express our utmost condolences. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. Amen.

21-year-old woman arraigned for allegedly kidnapping a month-old baby
A 21-year-old woman, Ronke Odelabi, of Kolara Area, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ilorin Magistrates’ Court for allegedly kidnapping a month-old baby.
The Prosecutor, Mr Nasiru Yusuf, said the accused absconded with the baby belonging to her neighbour to her parent-in-law in Ogbomoso to deceive them that she had given birth to a baby.
The mother of the child, Funke Olowokere, resident of Oja-Oba area, Ilorin, said that, on Feb. 2, she gave her child (name withheld) to the accused, who was her co-tenant, while she was busy washing clothes.
She said that when she finished washing, she discovered that the accused had absconded with the child to unknown destination and all efforts to contact her through her phone number proved abortive.
The prosecutor said that investigation into the matter revealed that the accused kept the baby with one Odunola Adeyanju in Ogbomoso, where the police arrested her with the child.
He said that the accused was arraigned in the court on a one-count charge of kidnapping, contrary to Section 273 of the Penal Code Law.
Yusuf informed the court that investigation into the matter was yet to be concluded.
He objected to the bail application of the accused and urged the court to remand her in prison pending the determination of the case.
Magistrate Ibrahim Mohammed refused the oral application of the prosecutor and released the accused on bail at the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.
He also ordered that one of the sureties must be a Grade Level 10 officer in the Kwara Civil Service.
He, therefore, adjourned the case until March 18 for further mention.(NAN)
Governor Amaechi under fire for organizing Governance Conference
Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has come under heavy attacks for recently organizing an international conference on good governance and democracy in Rivers state.
The Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Emma Woke, while describing the conference as a waste of resources, said Amaechi had failed to practise what he preached and should be totally ignored.
The party chieftain on Wednesday said the conference was another avenue the state Governor was using to cover up his inability to account for the trillions of naira he had received since he assumed office.
According to him, “Amaechi’s penchant in wasting the resources of the state to organise frivolous seminars and conferences is just to justify the trillions of naira he has received so far since he became governor by judicial circumstances in 2007.
“One will not stop to wonder the kind of good governance the likes of Amaechi is talking about; is it to cast aspersion on a party platform through which he became a governor in 2007 and 2011?
“Is Amaechi’s good governance to divert the state’s billions of naira to fund a party that was his opposition in the past seven and half years when he was in PDP?
“Amaechi should be man enough to tell his friends, the former British Prime Minister, Jack Straw; and the former Irish PM, John Bruton, that he is a fair weather politician who left his former party, PDP, because the internal democracy of the party forbade him from being dictatorial,” he said.
