The Decision Of Jonathan That Saved Nigeria From Famine

WThe President had that day on his desk quite a lot of people that had sent him letters asking for waivers to bring in food and flood the country with food.

The President didn’t listen to them and he called his Minister of Agriculture that is a great leader and he said can we survive? Do you think we are gonna survive?
Mr. President, I said, we can survive if you help us to do dry season rice. I gave him the plan, he took his pen, he used his green pen and he cancelled every single one of those things on his desk asking for waivers. He said Akin as he normally calls me go get the job done.

Today he launched dry season farming program the first President in the history of this country to launch a program for National dry season farming, so we can produce food during the main season, food during the dry season.

All across the North of this country it started and that is why we have been able to boost so much food production, farmers, young people that use to leave the north to come and work in Lagos or Abuja as mai guards or night guards or stuffs like that have stopped.

We create a lot of jobs, agricultural sector alone in terms of farm jobs have been able to do 2.3million farm jobs, you go and ask people not on the internet, not on Facebook, you go ask the in Jigawa, you go ask them in Katsina, ask them in Sokoto ask them in Kano, ask them in Bauchi and ask them in Gombe; they will tell you that there is no other President that has loved farmers more, supported farmers more, encouraged them more and being there for them all the time, he truly is the farmers President and he truly is the farmers president because he loves Farmers, he supports farmers and I believe that the farmers are going to reward him back because the farmers don’t want to be naked again, they want the clothing on their body and they are not going to loose that to just empty promises from others.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is the Farmers President and the Farmers are for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.hen there was a flood in this country 2012, everybody panicked, President Goodluck Jonathan didn’t panic, people said there was going to be food crisis. I remember I went to him, I had my detailed analysis done, Mr President people are telling you that we are going to have food crisis, I said; No, you didn’t choose to shock we choose our response.

Elections 2015: New Party Offers INEC 2 Conditions

With the 2015 Elections just around the corner, fresh fears have emerged over the possibility of the yet another poll shift after a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordered The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, March 4, to include the Young Democratic Party (YDP) in lists of its duly registered political parties.

By implication, INEC would have to reprint new ballot papers for the elections which is just three weeks away.

Speaking yesterday, March 5, at a press conference the YDP’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ugo Nwofor, said INEC “has just two options”.

Option 1: reprinting the ballot papers to accommodate the party and its candidates but if INEC does not have “appropriation for logistics‎” for reprinting the ballot papers, Mr. Nwofor issued the second option.

Option 2: “lNEC should postpone the elections to accommodate our party”.

However, INEC has withheld its response to the development, saying it does not have the court document ordering it to recognize the YDP yet.

This was stated by both INEC Director of Voter

Mr. Nwafor of the YDP further added its party was ready for the elections.

However, one very key issue to be noted from this ongoing controversy is that if the YDP’s position continues, heavy uncertainty now looms over the possible conduct of the rescheduled elections on March 28 and April, respectively, as INEC is now expected to reproduce ballot papers to bear the YDP and its logo.

This leaves us with this very alarming question: Will INEC be able to honour this judgement with the rescheduled elections barely three weeks away?

It would be recalled that Justice Ahmed Mohammed made the order for the inclusion of The Young Democratic Party in his judgment on the suit filed by the party, challenging its denial of registration by INEC.

Justice Mohammed said that the YDP was believed registered when INEC failed to inform the then political association‎ of its decision not to register it as a political party within 30 days of receiving its application, as required under Section 78 (4) of the Electoral Act, 2010‎.

INEC was said to have received the association’s application on April 1, 2014 but only notified the applicant of its decision not to register it on September 15, 2014.

However, reactions that have emerged hours after the judgement have shown that some prominent lawyers in the country believe that Justice Mohammed’s judgement would not affect the March 28 and April 11 general elections.

According to Malam Abubakar Malami, the law required that a political party must be registered within 90 days before elections.

As such, the 90 days for the YDP would count from Wednesday when the judgement was delivered.

For Lagos lawyer, Festus Keyamo, the YDP cannot be part of the election because of the 90 days provision.

“The judgement will not affect the election in any way,” Keyamo said.

Poll Shift: APC Youths To Occupy Aso Rock, Major Cities

The Trent reports that the youth leaders on Thursday, vowed to to occupy Aso rock and major cities if the forthcoming elections does not hold on the rescheduled dates, March 28 and April 11.

The youth leaders made this known during a meeting by the zonal and state APC youth leaders in Abuja.

The North-west geopolitical zone leader, Mr. Shehu Marshal, who spoke at the meeting, also promises that they will occupy major cities and Aso Rock if the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega is removed from office before the elections.

Marshal, who accused the PDP of interfering with the electoral process said:“Our position is that the march 28 and April 11 election dates are sacrosanct otherwise we will occupy Aso Rock and other major cities in Nigeria.”

Speaking also, Ibrahim Jalo, the party’s national youth leader warned the PDP not to think of shifting the polls again as such move would not be tolerated like the previous one.

“We want to tell them that we have accepted it as our leaders have accepted it but election will be held on the 28 of March and that 28 remains sacrosanct because we will not tolerate any other shift in election dates. As law abiding citizens we have accepted it but if it comes to a point that the government and INEC do not want to conduct election, we will definitely have to take the necessary steps legally possible,” he said.

Jalo, who also commented on Jega’s alleged removal said if the presidency should remove the INEC boss now, it will take us back and everything has to start afresh from the beginning, although the presidency have no reason whatsoever to do such.

Despite threats from the youth wing of the opposition party, the Ekiti state government in a reaction to the possible removal of the INEC chairman has this to say.

Meanwhile, the APC has alleged that the use of card readers in the forthcoming elections is a ploy by the ruling party to either prevent the polls from holding or to rig it.Following anxiety that the country’s general elections might be shifted again, the youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have threatened the Federal Government and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Jonathan plans to rig 2015 eletion

From information gathered tonight from prominent politician in Kebbi State, Chief Edwin Clark, PEJ and Anehni have been mounting pressure on Jonathan to subvert the law and force INEC Chairman, Jega on terminal leave. Feelers at the presidency have been trying for two weeks to bring Senate president, David Mark on board but David Mark emphatically against such move. Mark was said to have told emissaries from presidency that such action must be done through the senate and there is no time for such exercise. Mark was said to have told the presidency that such move won't sit well with Nigerians and international community who have besieged the country in the last one month. Mark was said to have told the emissaries from presidency that the senate just gave Jega a thumb's up to go ahead with the election and doing otherwise could be costly for the country.

It was learnt that Edwin Clark emphatically told the president that the North already planned his exit from office with Jega as the hatchet man to formalize Jonathan's defeat from office. Edwin Clark has made it clear to the president that all PDP politicians from the North are working against his second term ambition with exception of Aba Moro, Sambo Dasuki, Namadi Sambo and David Mark. Chief Edwin Clark also made it clear to the president that PDP Chairman is not in support of the president. Clark was said to have told the president to take the bull by the horn and handle his crippling campaign by himself without relying on those the president gave the resources to carry out his campaign for re-election. Information available to me tonight also revealed that all plan is set to go ahead and ask Jega to proceed on leave by March 3rd but the president is not fully on board because he doesn't know how Nigerians are going to react. Senate allies of the president, media outfits, politicians from Yorubaland, and activists have been prepared to defend such move if the president makes the move in the coming days. There is going to be media campaign against Jega in the coming days.

Information available revealed that Tony Anehni has perfected plan to print one hundred million ballot papers from a company in China which to be delivered to Nigeria by March 15 and be distributed to INEC offices nationwide.
