Why Nigeria Could Not Rescue Chibok Girls- US Report

The report, according to two US Army generals revealed that Nigerian military commanders leaked plans to rescue the abducted Chibok girls to Boko Haram terrorists which ended up foiling the operation, Nigerian Watch reports.

It would be recalled that on April 14, over 234 students of Government Girls Secondary School Chibok in Borno State, were kidnapped by Boko Haram members, a development that sparked  international outrage.
The US, in response to the predicament of the girls, sent spy planes to Nigeria to help locate the girls after plans were concluded with the Nigerian military to mount a daring rescue operation.

The US Army generals, who gave more hints into the planned rescue operation said the mission was leaked to Boko Haram sect before it could be executed, which made the terrorists to take preventative action.
The generals who accused the Nigerian Army of treason, further disclosed that the fight against insurgents were deliberately sabotaged by the Nigerian government, adding that defeating Boko Haram would not have taken longer than a month.

He said US pulled away from the rescue operation after Washington find out that the mission has been compromised since Boko Haram already knew that a covert rescue mission that would involve the use of gas was underway.
