The Beauty of Clean Beauty! Check Out the 6 Steps to Achieving this Look

One of the most under-estimated looks of all time is the Clean Beauty look (also referred to as the No-makeup makeup look).I have encountered people who assume that when your makeup is nice and clean and almost natural it automatically means that your makeup techniques are whack. This is a classic look and I am more often than not seen with just clean glowy skin, blush, mascara and lip balm. What people fail to realize with this look is the fact that it is the most universal look of all. It can be worn to run errands, go out for brunch with the girls, picnic, date night and even red carpet (if you have the nerve to dare the paparazzi tearing you apart for ‘not making an effort with your makeup though’).During the dry season, this is a great go-to look as it would allow you to apply a combination of moisturizer and sunscreen. I love to see some colour on skin but to me nothing compares to the classy elegance of beautiful skin and minimalist makeup. Don’t get me wrong; well-applied colour is a sight for sore eyes but sometimes it clashes with all the wonderful colours of nature around us. That natural and radiant glow with makeup isn’t difficult to achieve. All you need are the right techniques and you are well on your way to being a bonafide ‘natural beauty’ Apply a generous layer of moisturizer + sunscreen. I love the Khuraira Balance Control lotion which has a matte finish for this. This is especially for those who have really oily skin. For combination skin, I use the Sleek Studio daytime creme with spf 30.Using foundation, BB cream, CC cream, tinted moisturizer (or whatever works for you), even out the skin. Cover visible blemishes with creamy concealer and a patting motion.Set foundation with a light sweep of loose powder using a large powder brush. With an angled fluffy brush, sweep contouring powder into the hollows of your cheeks and sides of the nose.Using the large powder brush apply the highlighter to the upper cheek bones, bridge of the nose and forehead. Finally, lightly dab a little clear gloss on your lips

Wrap it Up, Keep it Safe! Want to Protect your Natural Hair during Cold Weather? Find out How

We are getting closer to Harmattan/Fall/Winter, and with all the festivities comes dry and harsh weather. For women who love to leave their natural hair out, relaxed or not, this can be a stressful time as you have to discover new ways to keep your hair from drying out, breaking and still promote growth. That is why BN Beauty is bringing you some great tips for keeping your hair moisturized and looking great this dry season. Pre-Poo your hair before washing Pre-poo is all about preparing your hair before it becomes wet while cleansing or washing. To do this use heavy conditioners or oils and massage in into the hair. This process promotes elasticity of the hair which would prevent breakage and give it extra moisture so you don’t strip the hair while cleansing and make de-tangling a breeze. Cleansing During Summer or warmer periods, naturals usually use light-based conditioners and other products to get rid of product build-up and keep the hair clean. In cold weather, these light- based products wouldn’t work as much. In this case you have to use heavier conditioners, oils etc to help keep the moisture in the hair. Unfortunately, conditioners do not have the ability to adequately remove product build-up from the hair like a shampoo, that is why you should find a sulfate -free shampoo that you can safely use. Moisturize your ends A lot of the time we pay attention to the roots of our hair and neglect the ends of the strands. One thing we should remember is that when it comes to natural hair, the natural curl pattern or kink makes it difficult for our natural oils (sebum) to get to the ends of the hair, therefore we have to add that extra moisture. If you pay attention to the roots of the hair, that already has the sebum and neglect your ends, they will get really dry and start to break off and that could lead up to your hairs mid-section and cause more damage. Protect, protect and protect During cold weathers, it is best to keep your hair in when it doesn’t need to be out. Whenever you are stepping out and want to protect your hair, apart from wearing wigs and protective styling, you can put on a silk scarf. Thankfully, scarves are very trendy during cold weathers so you can always style it to compliment your outfit. This also applies to when you are going to bed at night. During Summer you could get away with leaving your hair out while sleeping, but not this time. Sleeping with your hair out on a cotton pillowcase will strip your hair of its natural oils and leave it dry, so instead of this, put on a silk scarf and even replace your pillowcase with a silk one and keep your moisture intact. This way you don’t have to moisturize as much, you don’t have too much product build-up and silk feels great while you’re sleeping. Be Proactive Don’t wait for your hair to get dry before you decide to moisturize it. Apply the necessary conditioners and oils to your hair so your hair doesn’t get to the stage when you have to rescue it. Here are a couple of protective hairstyle inspirations that you can adopt to keep your hair safe from the impending cold weather.

What You Need To Know About Bridal Makeup

A bridal makeup is not everyday makeup. A wedding day is one of the best days in a woman life. So her makeup needs to be picture perfect find enlisted some tips you may follow, also remember that this is just a guide to your creativity and request of your client can alter this. Step One choose a lightweight foundation for bridal looks, because heavy foundation will look very obvious in the picture. I recommend liquid foundation for oily skin, pan-slick foundation for dry skin and cream foundation on normal skin brides. All application should be done lightly (except the bride request otherwise). Apply foundation on face after cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Step Two: conceal spots and blemishes to cover any imperfections, so that bride can appear subtle and pretty. Step three: you need to make the makeup last throughout the day, so you need prima the eye –lid and apply desired eye shadow on the bride. However keep shadow colours light to medium a bride should not look like a stage performer on her wedding day. Step four: contour the eye slightly but avoid a strong color like charcoal for wedding makeup (expect the bride is extremely dark in completion) remember to use water proof to avoid smearing as the bride may be doing a lot of tears of joy. Step five: line the eyes and bass the lid charcoal, navy, dark gray are great choices. For liner curl the lashes and apply mascara. If you are using extension on the lashes remember to sick them and curl them well so they do not peel out during the occasion. Step six: if the bride3 is wearing white dress let the lipstick or liner color be bright. Berry shade and hues of reds are great idea on white wedding dresses if you are wearing coloured wedding dress for your bride use brown lip liner and pink or rose lipstick or gloss. Step seven: apply a pretty shade of blush on your bride if she light use pink and rose or terracotta. If she is dark you should usually apply more blush for bridal makeup than what the bride would wear for an everyday look, rio radiance blush by flori Roberts is elegant on dark skinned brides, while Copacabana if applied lightly will flatter skinned brides. Natural brown blush by flori Roberts will look gorgeous on brides trying to wear a natural look on her special day.
