Sunday, January 19 2014, Mr Cosmas Maduka- the Chairman Coscharis group got an unexpected treatment. He was publicly embarrassed by Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. The happenstance transpired at a reception organised by association known as South East South South professionals at Oriental Hotel, Lekki Lagos state. The Minister was 'Guest of Honour' at the reception. According to witnesses Maduka suffered his 'embarrassment' on the Minister's arrival. Narrated a source ' On arrival, the minister was greeting guests already at the venue as she made her way to her seat...She got to Maduka and he shook her hand leaned

forward attempting to whisper somethings into her hand only for Okonjo to speak out clearly for all those nearby to hear...this is not the place to discuss that matter, I am not here for that...and waving her hand as she moved past him added, may be later' Information revealed Maduka was caught rooted to the spot. The hum of conversation was said to have immediately gone still and later pick up as Okonjo moved on like the incident was the most normal of things. Amongst those on the circle of the table the incident transpired were Oba Otudeko, Stella Okoli, Senator Eyinaya Abaribe, Engr. Charles Ambaowei, Chief Garry Igariwey, Amb George Obiozor, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Prof Anya O. Anya, Gov Peter Obi, Chief Ayo Adebanjo and MrVictor Osibodu, Maduka was said to have quietly regained his seat and maintained the position for the rest of the evening- while others later walked up to the minister to chat with or take pictures. The event which started at about 5pm reportedly ended minutes past 9pm and paraded a guests that include, Emeka Anyaokwu, Gov Peter Obi, Prof Anya O. Anya, Senator Abaribe, Alex Otti, Oba Otudeko, Sen Annie Okonkwo, Amb Greg Mbadiwe, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya and Dr Duro Soleye It is instructive that, Cosmas Maduka's firm- Coscharis Motors purchased the controversial armoured for the personal use of Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah at outrageous cost. Investigations later revealed the acquisition were perfected using waivers approved by the Ministry of Finance. A development Okonjo Iweala distanced herself and her ministry from hinting at forgery. It is believed, this is the first public outing the Chairman of the firm that utilised documents from a ministry, the minister in charge claimed never to have issued - to execute a federal government deal- met in public since the matter broke out. The association claim it's mission as celebrating professionals from the South East South South zone of Nigeria.
