Fathia calls for entries
Coming on the heels of the maiden edition of YMAA, which was held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, last year, the organizers of Yoruba Movie Academy Awards (YEAA) have called for entries for the 2014 edition, which holds in Osun State later in the year.
Tunde Osinubosi aka Laface, the Executive Producer of YMAA in a chat with The Entertainer declared that the annual award was back and better: “We are back again with a bang! Last year we did it against the odds and produced a world class show. As I speak to you, plans have been wrapped up for the 2014 edition as the call for entries has kicked-off. New categories have also been included in this year’s edition to encourage and reward hard working Nigerians who are working behind the scenes; this is in line with the yearnings of our people.”
Shedding light on entry formats, Laface continued: “The mode for all film entry submissions is DVD format. Entry is officially open to Yoruba films premiered or released between January to December 2013 in Nigeria, Africa and across the Diaspora. Entry is also open to independent producers and marketers globally and all films must be 80 per cent Yoruba language films and must be subtitled in other preferred languages.”
