Five Boko Haram Militants Killed In Iraq

Mosul Youth Resistance Movement killed five members of the Boko Haram sect in Mosul on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.

Saed Mamuzini, the spokesperson of Kurdistan Democratic Party in Mosul, confirmed that the movement, which was formed to act against Islamic State, attacked the Boko Haram insurgents in the Dargaza neighbourhood of Mosul killing 5 insurgents.
According to Mamuzini, the Nigerian Boko Haram militants were in Mosul to take part in a military training course conducted by Islamic State.


It would be noted, that it the first report of the presence of Boko Haram insurgents in Iraq.
On March 7,2015 the terrorist group pledged allegiance to ISIS in Irag and Syria. The pledge was made by Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and was addressed to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi al-Husseini al-Qurashi, the lead­er of ISIS, one of the richest and the most powerful terrorist groups in the world.

A week after the pledge of allegiance, the ISIS leadership in a statement accepted the sect into its fold and promised to work with it to establish an ISIS cell in West Africa. In an audio message, the spokesperson of ISIS said that the group was aiming to establish a caliphate in West Africa.

Meanwile, the Nigerian Army foiled an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Maiduguri, Borno state capital. The army authorities disclosed that a group  of terrorists who detonated two female suicide bombers ahead of their assault on Ladi Kayamla were swiftly routed by the troops in the area.
