It wasn’t a pleasant experience for the Managing Director of Stanbic IBTC, Mrs.
Sola David – Borha as she was disgraced and walked out by the governor of Delta
State, Arthur Okowa Ifeanyi.
Mrs. Sola David- Borha experienced
this ugly incidence and embarrassment from Delta State governor when she was at
his office, in a bid to lure Delta State Government to do business with her
bank, Stanbic IBTC.
Mrs. David-Borha was said to be at
Delta State Governor’s office as an emissary and on the order of the Chairman
of Stanbic IBTC group, Atedo N. A. Peterside, who wants Gov. Okowa to go into
partnership with his organization.
According to our findings, Mrs. Sola
David-Borha had to be deliberately delayed hours before she could be attended
to by the governor. When the governor finally decided to attend to her, he was
alleged to have told her bluntly that “I don’t need you. I have no intention of
doing business with you or your chairman. And even if we must do business with
you, meet appropriate commissioner.” And the governor walked the woman out of
his office.
Without doubt, this development will make many to wonder if this is a payback time in favour of Gov. Okowa on the person of the Chairman of Stanbic IBTC group, Atedo N.A. Peterside. For those that may not know, Atedo Peterside was not in support of Gov. Okowa during the 2015 Delta State Gubernatorial electioneering period. Atedo was even campaigning against the candidacy of Gov. Okowa. As fate would have it, Okowa won Delta State gubernatorial election and was legally sworn in as the governor of the state.
Elections are over, and the Chairman of Stanbic IBTC, Atedo Peterside wanted a way of winning the governor to his side by sending Mrs. Sola David-Borha to him, but the unlucky woman experienced, probably, the most embarrassing moment of his carrier at Stanbic IBTC delivering the message to the governor.
