Olisa Metuh, others on Mimiko’s pay roll – Ondo APC allege

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ondo State chapter has accused the State Governor Olusegun Mimiko of allegedly placing the National Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Olisa Metuh and some others leaders of the paarty on pay roll.
Besides, the APC has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the police to investigate the alleged financial recklessness of Mimiko.

In a statement issued in Akure, the State capital, by the Party’s Publicity Secretary, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, he said, “we reliably gathered that Chief Olisa Metuh and some PDP National officers are on the payroll of Ondo State government . The money, which is running into several millions of Naira monthly was part of the agreement reached with Governor Olusegun Mimiko before controversially installing him (Mimiko) as the Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum”.

APC reiterated that, “in view of the prevailing conditions of non payment of workers salaries and emoluments; non payment of pensioners allowances and gratuities for more than two years; neglect and complete abandonment of state owned industries coupled with infrastructural decadence, Mimiko was still “reckless and ruthless in spending our commonwealth on frivolity; buying award here and there; sponsoring the PDP National Secretariat, (especially the office of the National Publicity Secretary), while leaving the good people of Ondo State to wallow in abject poverty.

“At this crucial period of economic downturn, we expect Mr. Governor to apply austerity measures: plug loophole, cut down wasteful spending, priortise resources and stop dispensing our money like an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) that he’s often called in Abuja (the nation’s capital).

“We therefore call on the law enforcement agents to investigate and prosecute Messers Mimiko and Metuh before the law court. Governor Olusegun Mimiko should focus on the development of Ondo State and make effort to fulfill his electoral promises rather than spending our money to resuscitate the already dead PDP”, the statement read.
