– A motorist and traffic warden were engaged in a fight over N50.
– The traffic warden punched the motorist, prompting 3 of his teeth to fall off.
A traffic warden, identified as Sunday Charles, on Tuesday, January 26, was involved in a fight with a motorist, Kingsley, who refused to part with N50 after he was stopped at the Omole bus stop, Ojodu area of Lagos state, by a team of traffic wardens, The Punch reports.
Trouble reportedly started when Kingsley claimed that he had earlier given Charles, N50, adding that he would not give him another until evening.
According to eyewitnesses, Charles, who insisted on collecting the money, dragged Kingsley down from the vehicle and punched him in the face, prompting 3 of his teeth to fall off.
Kingsley held the warden and dragged him into the bus while demanding medical treatment. He also wanted to report the case at the Ojodu Police Station but people advised him against it as Charles’ uniform was torn and they suspected that the matter could be turned against Kingsley.
Dolapo Badmos, the Lagos state police PRO, speaking on the incident said: “The traffic warden was beaten by a commercial bus driver and his conductor who are still at large. His service uniform was torn to pieces. He was rescued by a team of policemen deployed in the scene. The case will be dealt with decisively.”

The trouble started after the passenger identified as Kunle paid his transport fare but the bus conductor deliberately hoarded his change for several minutes.
