OPC Rescues 61 Years Old Widow From Kidnappers

Men of the Ikorodu West Local government chapter of the Oodua People' s Congress on Wednesday rescued sixty one years old Victoria Falodi from the kidnappers .
The widow was last week abducted at her Isawo ,Ikorodu residence by a gang of gunmen ,who whisked her away in a canoe .


The rescue of the woman followed an intense gun battle between the OPC men and the kidnappers at the Woodland Creek ,where she was taken to .

The Yewa Community CDA had to resort to the OPC ,when the kidnappers insisted on collecting five million naira ,before she could be released .

The abduction was said to have been done by a gang of kidnappers, led by Timmy , popularly known as " Big Fish" 
It was gathered that the woman is responding to treatment at the hospital ,where she was rushed to ,after she was rescued by the OPC men .

A resident of Isawo, Oluwafemi said " It is true that mama has been rescued by the OPC people .The kidnappers were demanding for five million naira " .

He also added that " Mama had come out of her house to help somebody charge her mobile phone ,when the kidnappers swooped on her " .
The resident also stated that " when it was clear that the police could not rescue her and the family could not raise five million naira ,the CDA contacted the OPC ' .
He also stated that " the police know about the operation .The OPC men handed mama n over to them ,when she was rescued " 

Kajubo Adebola ,the General Commandant of the OPC in Ikorodu West confirmed the rescue of the woman and added that she had been handed over to the police .
" It is true that we rescued the woman .We engaged the kidnappers in a gun battle at Woodland Creek .

They later abandoned the woman and escaped " the OPC commandant said .

The people of the community therefore, commended the efforts of Otunba Gani Adams for ordering his men to get the woman rescued after spending about four days in the kidnappers den.
