And from the look of things, it would end up as a last-minute actualization.
And his target is Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Adebutu became at odds with the former governor when he sacrificed the ambition of Daniel to become the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party to seal hold on the state chapter of the party.
After the former governor had spent huge resources campaigning, Ladi dumped him on election day to back rival and eventual winner Uche Secondus.
The move sealed the gubernatorial aspirant’s status as a top-level stakeholder in the affairs party at the national level – as well as his hold on the structure of the state chapter.
Daniel was forced to abandon his ambition on election day when he discovered Ladi was working against him – and had instructed delegates from his own base to vote against him!.
But after all, said and done, Ladi is said to be plotting moves that would reconcile him with the former
governor.
“He intends to beg Daniel and perfect a political settlement with him as a makeup of sort” a source disclosed.
The political settlement would see Ladi conceding certain party positions to Daniel and offer the former governor a number of elective slots as well as a percentage of appointment into his government if he becomes Governor.
The objective of the reconciliatory move by the gubernatorial aspirant is to openly get Daniel’s backing to achieve his ambition of becoming the next Governor of Ogun state – ensure all loyalists of the former governor work towards his emergence as the successor of outgoing state helms man, Ibikunle Amosun.
Daniel is believed to possess one of the most formidable political structures in Ogun state.
