The Lagos State Police Command says Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, on Monday morning, turned himself in at the State headquarters, Ikeja, following an alleged assault of a police officer last week. Subsequently, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, ordered Kuti’s immediate arrest over the incident. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement made available to newsheadline247, informed that Seun Kuti turned himself in at the state police command in company of his lawyer and family representative adding that “he has been placed under arrest in line with the law.” The police also assured the public that “the investigation will be detailed, transparent, professionally pursued; and justice will be manifestly served for all parties involved.” Below is the statement in full
