First
step
What is makeup:
makeup is any product or mixture
produced or invented. Specifically to beautify or mske an illusion on the body
makeup is also referred to as coloured product makeup are of two types:
decorative makeup and care cosmetics. According to the U.S.FDA (regulatory body
for cosmetics products in U SA)
makeup has been defined as Intended to be applied on the human body for cleansing
beautifying promoting attractiveness or altering the appearance without
affecting the body structure or function’ ( U.S.FDA excluded soap in this
definition). And the types of makeup we have is NATURAL MAKEUP: process of
applying colours on the model, to give a natural look. It is not targeted as
making illusions or effects on the model, but just to beautify existing natural
beauty. It shall be discussed further in the step seven as we go on. HALLOWEEN MAKEUP:
usually scary costume-like, worn for Halloween and costume parties or for stage
performance. THEATRICAL MAKEUP: this is strictly for the theaters or television
drama (home videos). ENGAGEMENT MAKEUP: this is a makeup worn by brides for
their traditional wedding. It will be discussed in further lesson. FASHION
MAKEUP: for fashion shoe and runway BRIDAL MAKEUP: look made on bride’s face
for her wedding day. And ERMANENT MAKEUP: this usually entails surgery or other
medically-related from body enhancement process. It is usually done by
cosmetologist or body enhancement expert in the medical sector. Model wears
such makeup for long years or sometimes for the rest of their life.
Difference Between Makeup And Make
Over: makeup is targeted at beautifying the body only
(Especially the face) in a way that does not alter the natural features of the
individual, but only enhance already existing beauty of the person or the
model. An example of this is Bridal makeup, Engagement makeup, straight makeup
and natural makeup. Make-over on the other hand entails that you alter the
features of the client using your cosmetics and colour in order to suit a
particular purpose. Makeovers suggest that you create mood facial expression
illusions, characters, and personalities with your tools and products and most
important your imagination which is in no way similar to the natural looks of
the model e.g. making a man look like a woman, making an 18 years old girl on
set look like 35 years old woman are example of makeovers.

have three, four or six units of different makeup brushes. A standard
professional makeup brush pack should consist of this following brush, powder brush: this is often the most
bulky in the pack it is simply used to apply powder on the face of the model.

blending tool to tone down and soften makeup if it is in excess. Blush brush: often placed close to the
powder brush in the pack it is the tool used to apply and blend blush evenly on
the cheek bone and also to apply bronzers on the T-Zone. Foundation brush: this is used to apply foundation on the face of
