US Woman Executed For Killing 9-Yr-Old Son Of Her Girlfriend

A 38-year-old US female convict was executed yesterday night over the cruel murder of a child.
Lisa Ann Coleman from Texas was arrested almost a decade ago for killing 9-year-old Davontae Williams, Daily Mail reports.

The boy’s body discovered by the police in July 2004 was covered with 250 scars, indicating he had been badly beaten and bound. On the fateful day he was found dressed in a diaper, and with bandages all around his body.

It was also evident that the victim, the son of her girlfriend, had been starved, as at the time of his death he weighed only 35 pounds (about 16 kg). The autopsy showed that the ultimate cause of death was malnutrition.
While Coleman was sentenced to death, Davontae’s mother Marcella Williams was ordered to spend the rest of her life in jail for his death.
The troubled mom, who delivered the late victim when she was 14, had been investigated by Child Protective Services seven times within a 7-year period before the tragedy occurred.

Prosecutor’s in Coleman’s case used the charge of kidnapping to justify asking for the death penalty.
Following eight years of imprisonment, the woman was executed on Wednesday, September 17, and her execution was characterized as “very peaceful”.
According to the report, her last words were directed at her fellow inmate. She said:
“Tell them I finished strong.”
The woman smiled and started blowing kisses at the supporters saying:
“God bless you all.”
Before the execution with the lethal injection she allegedly told guard she was not afraid to die:
“I’m ready, I know where I am going. I’m not bitter, just ready.”
