The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Amuwo Odofin Local Government branch has honoured the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale with an "Award of Commendation" for his giant development strides in the Local Government Area.
The Chairman of the Association, Overseer E.O. Aluko while presenting the award to the Local Government boss at the Council Chapel, Festac Town, Lagos commended him for his outstanding work in the Local Government in the past years including good roads network, infrastructure, health, human education, climate change, youth empowerment, human capacity building and sports development. He further stressed that the Local Government boss has been able to bring religious harmony in the community.
The Local Government boss in his acceptance speech after receiving the commendation award, thanked the Association for honouring him. He also thanked God for giving him the opportunity to successfully complete the Council Chapel and gave an example of David in the holy bible that started the building of the temple of God but wasn’t given the opportunity to complete it.
Comrade Adewale also used the opportunity to commend the Executive Members, Legislative Arm, Management, Staff and the good people of the Local Government for their tremendous support in his transformation of the community.
Earlier in the programme, a special prayer session for the Executive Chairman was held. The Prayer session was led by Rev.(DR) M. Fatumo JP, DNS Holloway- Oligbile JP and Rev. I.O. Owoyele respectively.
Meanwhile, Mr. Segun Akinyelure has solicited for the support of the Christian Association of Nigeria in his quest to become a member of the Federal House of Representatives. He made this public during the commendation award and prayer session held for Comrade Adewale. “I am humbly seeking for your support, as I will be contesting for House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2015 in this constituency,” he noted.
