A 30-year-old US mother was charged after her little daughter tried to distribute 250 packs of heroin in her classroom.
According to Metro, Ashley Tull sent her 4-year-old daughter to Hickory Tree Child Care Centre, where the girl handed out what she though was “candy” to her friends.
USA Today adds that the teachers raised the alarm when they noticed children with strange small bags of white powder.
Investigation revealed that the 4-year-old took the drug to school “unknowingly” when the woman gave her the wrong backpack, stuffed with heroin.
Police of Delaware State reported
that the woman was charged with drug possession and endangering the welfare of
a child.
In a
statement released in connection with the issue, the police said:
“The white
powdery substance, which was still enclosed in the bags, was removed by the
teachers and immediately taken to the Selbyville Police Department where it was
determined to be heroin. Several children who came in contact with the unopened
bags were transported to area hospitals as a precautionary measure and were
released after being examined.”
It was further provided that the amount of heroin recovered totaled 249 bags
of weighing 3.735 grams.
